Celebration Art Stroll & Sidewalk Sale

The annual Art Stroll and Sidewalk Sale is taking place in Celebration this weekend! Located on Market Street in downtown Celebration, these events are something to celebrate.

The Art Stroll will feature local artists, not just from Celebration— but from all over the State of Florida. Art booths will display paintings, sculptures, jewelry and more. And remember, booths vary each festival. So what you saw last year won’t be what you see this year! (Though the show will feature from returning artists, too.)

The Sidewalk Sale will feature sales on some of the best pieces of the season. From clothing items to decor, you never know what you’ll find! Participating stores are located in downtown Celebration, along Market Street.

While you’re in town, grab a bite to eat at the Celebration Town Tavern or a quick slice of pizza at Upper Crust. Two of our favorites! Then take a scenic walk around the lake. The weather is expected to be beautiful all weekend long.

What’s in your beach bag?

When Nicole Kidman arrived on the red carpet at Cannes in a show stopping Dior dress made of intricately woven raffia, it confirmed a trend that shows no sign of stopping. The palm fiber material is a natural for summer hats, shoes and bags, and it’s never been more popular.

No one does boho summer vibe better than CJ Laing, the Palm Beach shop (with Nantucket and Siasconset doors as well). Their raffia tote has leather whip stitching, fun tassels and beading. It’s roomy enough to cram in your Kindle, fashion mags, and a bottle of OPI’s Cajun Shrimp nail lacquer—a summer standard for toes.

Want a bag with a little more formality? Balenciaga’s Panier Tote takes raffia into posh territory with leather trim and an attached leather-bound hand-mirror for touchups. Très chic.

Also, at CJ Laing, is the raffia Mama Tarboush hat, a fedora-style sun hat in crochet raffia which is soft enough to stow in your carry-on without getting squashed.

If Audrey Hepburn were to go to the beach, she’d wear this hat. From Lola Hats, the wide brim is woven in two shades of raffia and trimmed with a black ribbon that ties under the chin. Goes perfectly with a simple black one piece, pearls optional.

Cat eyes are everywhere in sunglasses this year. Actress Busy Phillips wore these Alice +Olivia Victoria Blush Fade sunnies on her Instagram feed and they immediately lit up the fashionista world. They come in several colors, but the Millennial Pink are so now.

Looking for Euro-sexy sophisticated? Fendi’s Hypnoshine sunglasses are embellished with a gold and opaque black motif and complete with metal temples with contrasting tips. Meow!

British lifestyle guru India Hicks embodies the ultimate in island style (her famous family has kept homes in the Bahamas for years). Her Holicow line, named for India’s sacred bovines, offers a beach towel that’s both beautiful and practical. It’s a gorgeous block-printed cotton fabric on one side backed by plush terry.

Another big trend for summer is tassels and pompoms. John Robshaw has created a graphical blue and white beach towel trimmed with oversized turquoise pompoms that captures the joy of sun, beach, and vacation vibes.

Don’t forget to pack sunscreen. The Island Company makes a divinely scented potion that beachy bloggers swear by: Tourist® Spf 30 Lotion.

Beauty brand favorite Tarte’s Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30 delivers  fresh lily-scented sun protection with no parabens, chemicals or toxic additives.
