Hopscotch Music Festival

Downtown Raleigh – Sept. 5th-7th
More than 130 bands performing at 10 venues over three nights makes this music festival unrivaled as the largest of its kind in the area! Hopscotch is celebrating it’s 10th year in 2019 and continues to support the local scene with approximately 25% of the festival’s performers hailing from in-state!

Hopscotch is known for adventurous lineups, memorable performances, and a fan-friendly atmosphere. From a large outdoor main stage in Raleigh City Plaza to intimate club shows, the festival offers music in almost every genre imaginable—rock, hip-hop, metal, folk, electronic, experimental, and more—and its programming highlights this diversity each year.

City of Oaks Pirate Fest

Dorothea Dix Park – Saturday, Sept. 14, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Pirates in North Carolina are part of our culture, heritage, and history. In the late 17th-early 18th century the state government actually invited them onto North Carolina shores with their boats full of treasures. The Governor, judges and local officials were happy with the revenue this activity brought to the state.

Learn more about our early history and determine if these stories are more fact or fiction! Enjoy Pirate Crafts, Listen to a Notorious Pirate Band and More! This event is fun for all ages!
