Do Cougars drive Jaguars?
When I went to my first Board Of Realtors meeting back in 1987, I was surprised to see so many Jaguars in the parking lot.
The first Broker I worked for in 1987 drove a Jaguar. He always had a new car. He was hooked on Jaguars. One day he told me as I was looking the Kelly Blue Book value of used Jaguars he casually told me that “around here Jaguars are selling back of book value” (less than the value KBB quoted). This was news to me. How could they have a service that gave the wrong information?
My eyes were opened by someone who knew Jaguars.
These days you can “check the value of your home” with just a click. We have that service, similar to the “Kelly Blue Book”. Many companies are trying to come up with the solution to the question, “What’s my home worth?” But is the “automatic value” correct? Does a Cougar drive a Jaguar? Ok well maybe sometimes, but I digress.
Wikipedia says “Fair market value (FMV) is an estimate of the market value of a property, based on what a knowledgeable, willing, and unpressured buyer would probably pay to a knowledgeable, willing, and unpressured seller in the market.”
Is your home value “back of book value” or “ahead of book value?” Only by marketing your home with a proven, experienced professional will get you that answer.
